The Satsuma House
A backyard built for long afternoons.
One of our favorites, built to hold ten guests without anyone feeling like a guest. A heated pool, a backyard bar, custom white oak builds, and citrus-grove color in every room.
The pool is heated year round and the bar is steps from it. Inside, the kitchen opens to a dining table that seats everyone at once, which is the whole point.

THE DETAILS
OUTDOORS
The pool is the centrepiece — heated year-round, with a travertine tile surround, tropical plantings on all sides, and an upper balcony overhead. A covered patio with ceiling fans, an outdoor dining set, and a gas BBQ grill sit directly off the sliding glass doors. At the far end of the garden, a grass-thatched tiki bar faces the property's signature hand-painted citrus mural on the outbuilding wall — the two visual signatures of the house in one view.
LIVING & DINING
The double-height living room is the architectural heart of the house. A large-scale magnolia mural climbs the staircase wall. Large-format egret and cherry blossom art panels anchor the far wall alongside a bamboo-panelled TV nook with flanking shelving. A multi-globe brass chandelier hangs above the custom dining table that seats all ten guests. A green velvet sectional sofa and mustard yellow accent chairs complete the seating area. Wide sliding glass doors open directly onto the covered patio and pool — the indoor-outdoor flow is seamless.
KITCHEN
Sage green cabinetry with brass hardware, a dramatic black terrazzo backsplash, a professional 6-burner gas range, and a quartz waterfall island with four leather bar stools. Open shelving is stocked with full glassware sets. Fully equipped for group cooking — everything from a quiet breakfast to a dinner for ten.
WET BAR
A dedicated indoor beverage station just off the main living area — granite counter, brass fixtures, and a built-in wine and beverage fridge set against a terracotta accent wall. Keeps the main kitchen free when the group is in full swing.
BEDROOMS & BATHROOMS
Five bedrooms across two floors sleep ten guests comfortably. Each room is finished with the same care as the shared spaces. Four full bathrooms serve the house.
OFFICE
A dedicated home office with desk and chair, private and separate from the main living areas.
PARKING
One private gated space directly beside the house. Free on-street parking on Louisiana Avenue for additional vehicles.

POOL & GARDEN MAINTENANCE
Our team visits every Monday and Thursday morning between 8am and 11am to service the pool and maintain the garden. We keep disruption to a minimum — most guests are out exploring the city by then.
SECURITY CAMERAS
For the security of our guests, exterior recording devices are located at the front and back doors of the house. The pool area falls within the coverage area. All cameras are exterior only — there are no cameras of any kind inside the home.
NOISE & OCCUPANCY MONITORING
Per City of New Orleans regulations, the property is equipped with a noise monitoring device. It measures decibel levels only — it does not record audio or conversations. The device also monitors occupancy and cigarette smoke.
